Hurricane Katia

Tropical Depression 13 formed in the Bay of Campeche on September 2, 2017 as a tropical depression. Katia became a tropical storm not long after, and then after a day or two, became a hurricane. Katia peaked at 105 mph before making landfall in Mexico as a cat 1 hurricane.

Katia dissipated at 11 am on September 9 2017 after hitting Mexico.

Katia made landfall on the night of September 8, 2017 as a cat 1 hurricane.

  • ECMWF - Spotted the system, may also be CMC, have to check home page. Sent into Mexico as TS.
  • CMC - TS into Mexico.
  • GFS - Slow to develop, but developed a cat 1 hurricane with pressure of 970s.
  • NAVGEM - Weak hurricane or strong TS.
  • UKMET - Cat 1 hurricane.
  • HWRF - Cat 1 or 2 hurricane.
  • HMON - Cat 2 to 4 hurricane.
