Tropical Storm Bret

Tropical Storm Bret formed as Potential Tropical Cyclone Two (PTC2) on June 18, 2017 East of the Lesser Antilles with a maximum sustained wind speed of 35 mph. Potential Tropical Cyclone was a new term created by the National Hurricane Center in 2017 to describe a system expected to develop into a tropical storm or depression.

As of the 5 p.m. advisory on June 19, 2017, the system was upgraded to Tropical Storm Bret, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 40 mph and a central pressure of 1007 mb just northeast of Guyana and Venezuela's border.

At 5 p.m. on June 20, 2017, Bret dissipated into a remnant low while maintaining its 40 mph winds.

The storm is expected to hit Northern Venezuela and the Southern Antilles Islands. Tropical storm warnings were issued when the storm received its first advisory, then later on for these areas.
