The storm originally formed as Tropical Depression 1 on April 19, and was upgraded at 2:00 P.M. on April 20 to a weak tropical storm with sustained winds of 45mph and a pressure of 993mb. at 37.7 N, -42.0 W. As of 8:00P.M., its winds reached 50mph and pressure remained at 993mb at 39.4 N, -44.2 W. The storm dissipated on April 21 as an extratropical cyclone. It was one of the few tropical systems to form in April since 1851.
