Tropical Storm Lee

Tropical depression 14 formed on the 11 PM advisory of September 14, 2017 with a max wind of 35 mph and a pressure of 1010 mb.

On September 16, 2017, TD 14 was upgraded to Tropical Storm Lee.

Lee dissipated at 11 pm on September 18, 2017, but reformed on September 22, 2017 as a tropical depression with winds of 35 mph and a minimum pressure of 1014 mb.

At 2:30 AM on September 24, 2017, Lee rapidly intensified into a category 1 hurricane with winds of 75 mph and a pressure of 987 mb and continued to strengthen through 8 AM to 85 mph and 983mb.

Lee slowly became a major hurricane, maxing out at 115 mph.

Lee dissipated on the 5 am advisory of September 30, 2017 into a post tropical low.

  • HWRF - Strong TS to weak cat 1. Pressure barely below 1000 mb. Hinted at a return a few days before it did. Potential cat 1 or 2.
  • HMON - Strong TS to weak cat 1, but lower pressure by a few mbs than the HWRF. Cat 1 lasts longer than HWRF. Hinted at a return a few days before it did. Potential cat 2 to 3.
